Upon graduating with a Degree in Broadcasting and Film, Jane Champion's career includes:
News videographer and editor for the ABC affiliate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa: responsible for "running the beats," capturing and editing numerous daily stories; operating live mobile units for on-the-scene coverage; and producing half hour features such as "Kids, Cults and You."
Chief Producer at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the largest teaching hospital in the country at the time, with a 3-camera television studio including state-of-the-art, digital beta field cameras and nonlinear editing suites; responsible for producing hundreds of promotional, instructional and educational programs for the hospital as well as local and national television.
Production Credits and Awards:
* Producer of The Children’s Miracle Network, an annual, 20-hour live television show
broadcast on four major TV stations across Iowa as well as national feeds; responsible
for producing the live segments throughout the hospital and all on-air vignette stories
featuring children treated at the hospital
* IABC (Iowa Association of Broadcast Communicators) Best Overall Project Award for
"Managing the Side Effects of Chempotherapy", an award specially created to honor
my program over all print and visual media entries
* Lead on major marketing and promotional projects for the hospital and medical school

Champion Video Productions was founded in 1999, satisfying a dream of Jane's to move from the midwest to lovely Port Townsend, WA to start her own production company.
